The excerpt from T.S. Eliot's poem, "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock," seems to show exactly what the girl in the picture is thinking. Her expression in the mirror shows that she is asking herself a question, and with his poem T.S. Eliot is able to provide us with the question, as well as exactly what else she is thinking. Also, the language that the poem is written in is similar to the language a child would use; when Eliot says that he has heard mermaids singing to one another it seems as though this could also be the thoughts of a little girl.
